Shoaib Akhtar hails PM Narendra Modi for his ‘great gesture’ to Team India

Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar hailed India Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his great gesture of visiting Team India’s dressing room after their defeat against Australia in the final of the recently-concluded ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

As per Akhtar, it was a great gesture by Modi.

“PM Modi conveyed the message that they are with the players. It was a big gesture. This was a message that as a nation India is standing right beside the Indian team. That is very simple as that,” said Akhtar during an interview.

“This is like really really emotional time. He took the players as his children, as the kids and he lifted their morale to tell them that they played well. This was a great gesture by the PM,” he added.

Notably, to uplift the spirit of Team India, PM Modi who was present at the world’s largest cricket stadium, paid a visit to all the players and cheered them up. The special visitor rebuilt the confidence of the players and uplifted their spirit for the upcoming games.
