The Captain Cool, MS Dhoni who gave us countless memorable cricket matches, has also melted our hearts with his adorable love story with ladylove and wife Sakshi Dhoni.

The couple who tied the knot on July 4, 2010, has completed 12 years of togetherness and will add another year to their union on July 4, 2023. However, the two were childhood friends and knew each other way back before MS Dhoni became a celebrated cricketer.

Meanwhile, a rare picture of MS Dhoni when he first met Sakshi at the hotel where she was working as a receptionist has resurfaced on social media and is going viral.

For the uninitiated, MS Dhoni met Sakshi at a hotel in Kolkata where she worked as a receptionist. Their meeting was nothing short of a stroke of luck. Although they knew each other from childhood, they had lost contact with each other.

The two again met at the Taj Hotel, Kolkata where Sakshi was a hotel management trainee and MS Dhoni was staying there during one of India’s home series.

As shown in the movie MS Dhoni, Sakshi initially failed to recognise the best finisher in the world.

Talking about their first meeting, Sakshi had once revealed, “The first time I met him was through a common friend, and it was the last day of my internship at Taj, and he seemed to be a very regular guy, like very normal.”

Soon, they started talking over the phone and kept their relationship a private affair until they tied the knot on July 14, 2010. They are proud parents to a little girl Ziva Singh Dhoni.
