Keshav Maharaj, the vice-captain of the South African cricket team and one of the best left-arm orthodox spin bowlers in the world, needs no introduction. The ace batsman has been grabbing headlines after he stitched together a thrilling victory for South Africa in the ODI Men’s World Cup 2023 match against Pakistan.

More than his thrilling win, it was his Instagram post that caught the attention of many. Keshav Maharaj who is a pure Hindu and of Indian ancestry is a great Lord Hanuman devotee and shared, “In God I Trust what a special result by the boys, awesome to see performances from @shamsi90 & @aidenmarkram. Jai Shree Hanuman.”

For the unversed, Keshav is of Indian ancestry; his great-grandfather hailed from Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and migrated to Durban. Although Keshav was born and brought up in South Africa, he has a beautiful bond with India.

He is a proud Indian and can be seen celebrating all the festivals of India with his family. Another major thing that proves Keshav is a desi by heart is his beautiful wife Lerisha Munsamy, who also hails from India.
