Team India Captain Rohit Sharma has tested positive for COVID-19 following a Rapid Antigen Test conducted on Saturday, June 25, informed BCCI.

Rohit is currently in isolation at the team hotel, and is under the care of the BCCI medical team, said the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

He is likely to miss the Birmingham Test against England. His absence will definitely hurt Team India as he is the key for India at the top of the order.

Previously, the arrival of R Ashwin on the tour got delayed as he tested positive for the virus before leaving India.

The one-off Test is the conclusion of the series from last year which was then suspended after some players reportedly tested Covid positive.
