India captain Rohit Sharma’s huge 6s ensured India’s emphatic against arch-rival Pakistan in the World Cup 2023 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Saturday. The Hitman’s match-winning knock of 86 was a delight to watch in yesterday’s match.
After bowling Pakistan out for 191, Rohit Sharma gave India a blistering start in his 63-ball knock, which included 6 fours and 6 sixes.
Now, the skipper has revealed the reason for his huge sixes and it is mostly because of his huge arms. Yes, you read that right! The skipper candidly shared that it was the power of arms and not his bat for hitting massive sixes.
“The umpire asked me, how I am hitting such big and effortless sixes. Is it because of the bat? I told him it’s not my bat, it’s my power,” the Hitman said candidly as per popular X user Mufaddal Vohra.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is currently the number 7 in the list of leading run-getters in the ODI World Cups. But, he is also the batsman with the most centuries leaving Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Moreover, he is now the third cricketer after Chris Gayle and Shahid Afridi to smack 300 sixes in the one-day international format.
After guiding India to a memorable win, Rohit was spotted celebrating by making a fingers-crossed gesture to his wife Ritika Sajdeh. The Hitman also shared a picture of himself making the finger gesture and attributed the match win to teamwork.
Now, fans are eagerly waiting for the Men in Blue to display the same grit and determination and win big against Bangladesh in their next match.
