Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal finds himself in the middle of a legal storm after a woman from Ghaziabad accused him of sexual harassment and exploitation.
An FIR has been lodged against the 26-year-old cricketer under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Indirapuram police station, following a complaint filed through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s grievance portal, IGRS.
What Is Section 69 of BNS?
Section 69 addresses sexual acts carried out on deceitful promises such as false assurances of marriage or employment. It treats such actions as fraud and exploitation, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
The Woman’s Allegations
According to India Today, the complainant claimed she was in a five-year relationship with Dayal during which he allegedly exploited her mentally, physically, and financially under the false promise of marriage.
She alleged that Dayal introduced her to his family, reinforcing her trust, and behaved as though they were married. However, when she pressed him on marriage plans, he allegedly turned violent and continued to harass her.
She further accused Dayal of taking money from her and suggested similar behavior towards other women. The woman said she has evidence in the form of chat records, screenshots, video call recordings, and photos to support her claims.
Dayal Yet to Respond
Dayal and his family have not issued a statement on the matter. The left-arm pacer was instrumental in RCB’s historic IPL 2025 win, taking 13 wickets and delivering key overs under pressure. He also received his maiden India call-up for a series against Bangladesh last year but is yet to debut.
