Ravichandran Ashwin's return to India Cements triggers speculation about joining CSK

Speculations arise about his return as a player in the next IPL, influenced by the upcoming mega auction. Additionally, Ashwin will play for India Cements in the TNCA First Division.

Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has re-joined his old Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, the spin all-rounder has joined the franchise on an administration level as he took up the responsibility of their high-performance centre.

Meanwhile, Ashwin’s shift to CSK has also triggered speculation about his possible return to CSK for the next IPL season. Notably, a mega auction will be held ahead of the next season of the T20 extravaganza which will see the teams being shuffled as several big names will go under the hammer.

In response to the speculations, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that it depends on the auction dynamics as it’s completely out of their control. However, Viswanathan revealed that Ashwin will be playing for India Cements in the TNCA First Division. Ashwin quit India Cements in 2016 and joined their rivals Chemplast.

CSK’s high-performance centre is being built on the outskirts of the city and is expected to be ready ahead of the IPL 2025.
