Australia’s World Cup winner captain Patrick Cummins becomes the expensive player in IPL History as he was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20.50 crore.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad won the IPL in 2016 beating Royal Challengers Banglore. 

The previous expensive player was Sam Curran who was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18.5 crore in auction 2022.

The auction takes place in Dubai.

Talking more about the most expensive player, Pat Cummins-led Australian team recently won the World Cup as they went on to beat India in the ICC World Cup Final in Ahmedabad. With that win, Australia won their 6th World Cup title overall. 

Currently, Pat Cummins is in Australia where they are playing a 3-match test series Vs Pakistan. Australia won the first match by 360 runs.
