A dramatic turn of events unfolded on Day 3 of the four-day game between Bangladesh Emerging Team and South Africa Emerging Team in Dhaka, as players Ripon Mondol and Tshepo Ntuli were involved in a physical clash during Bangladesh’s innings.

The incident occurred in the 105th over when South African seamer Ntuli was hit for a six by Bangladesh’s Ripon Mondol off the very first delivery. What should have been just a powerful cricketing moment escalated quickly into a heated on-field confrontation. Both players charged at each other, with video footage showing Ntuli shoving Mondol before the Bangladeshi batter retaliated. The South African pacer was also seen grabbing Mondol’s helmet and yanking it repeatedly in a shocking show of aggression.

Umpires immediately stepped in to defuse the situation, and several players rushed to separate the two cricketers. The match continued after order was restored, but questions remain over disciplinary action.

Disciplinary Action Pending

As of now, match officials have not taken formal action, as the on-field umpires have yet to submit their incident report. However, both the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) are expected to initiate strict disciplinary measures once the review is complete.

Bangladesh Posts 371, Ntuli Among Wicket Takers

Despite the off-field drama, the match continued with Bangladesh putting up a strong total of 371 in 121.4 overs. Iftakhar Hossain Ifti led the charge with a superb 109, while Moin Khan added a valuable 91. Contributions from Ripon Mondol (43) and Mehedi Hasan (44) bolstered the innings.

For South Africa, Ntuli claimed 3 wickets for 108 runs in 40 overs. Andile Mokgakane was the most effective bowler, picking up 4/42 in 21.4 overs.

South Africa Struggles in Reply

In response, South Africa ended Day 3 at 152/6 in 42.3 overs. Muhammad Manack was the standout performer with a resilient 54 off 95 balls. With one day left, the match remains finely poised.

This is the final game of South Africa's tour, following a drawn first four-day match. Bangladesh had earlier clinched the ODI series 2-1.
