MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have emerged champions in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 after beating Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday. In the process, the yellow brigade have equaled Mumabi Indians (MI) in terms of winning the coveted trophy for fife times.

Well, while CSK fans and cricketers are celebrating the hard-fought victory, star Odia cricketer Subhranshu Senapati is also part of the champion team. The No.1 batsman from Odisha might not have got a chance in CSK playing XI, but he has got valuable experience by becoming the part of the champion team’s dugout.

Dhoni is a very shrewd captain and a visionary. He picks talented youngsters and prepares them for the bigger stage ahead. As per CSK sources, the Captain Cool has groomed Senapati very well. He is also backing youngsters in the team up to the hilt. The veteran wicketkeeper batsman praised Senapati many times for his brilliant batting in nets this year.

“Ab Senapati bahat achha batting kar raha he,” Dhoni had once told this year in praise of the aggressive Odia cricketer.

Under Dhoni’s guidance, Senapati has got a lot of confidence. Bolstered by Dhoni’s guidance, the rookie cricketer impressed one and all by effecting a brilliant run out in IPL 2023. Even CSK batting coach Mike Hussey mentioned about it in his comment after CSK’s title triumph.

“Dhoni is an amazing human being. His biggest strength is taking the pressure off the young guys. You saw a good example of that in the qualifier with Senapati. Dhoni told Senapati to calm down and he got us that big run-out.”

As per CSK sources, Senapati has been groomed well for this level and he is most likely to be retained for the next season of IPL. If it happens, the star Odia batsman is most likely to take Ambati Rayudu’s place in the team who has recently retired from IPL.
