The iconic Narendra Modi Stadium has been chosen as the venue for the final match of the ODI World Cup 2023. The stadium is India’s largest cricket ground and it has already hosted big events like the final of IPL 2022 and the 4th Test match between India and Australia.
Over one lakh passionate cricket fans will fill the stands of the huge stadium to cheer for their favorite teams in the high-voltage ODI World Cup final match later this year.
As per reports, one of the two semi-finals of the mega event will be played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The Wankhede Stadium has also a rich history of organising some big matches. The Men in Blue had triumphed over Sri Lanka to claim the 2011 World Cup title on this ground. However, in 2023, the stadium will host a crucial semi-final match. The winner of the match will seal a place in the final to be played in Ahmedabad.
As per BCCI sources, there has been no discussion about Pakistan playing their World Cup matches at a neutral venue like Bangladesh. A BCCI official urged Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to refrain from such talk.
The mega event will be played at various locations throughout India from October 5 to November 19. However, the ICC is yet to announce the full fixture of the tournament.
