Odisha para boccia team
Odisha is set to play in the National Para Boccia Championship for the first time. The State team departed for Visakhapatnam on Wednesday to participate in the 9th National Para-Boccia Championship 2024-25.
The Championship is scheduled to be held at the AMTZ Campus in Visakhapatnam from January 10 to 15.
The squad is accompanied by its team head Jitendra Kumar Behera.
The Para Sports Association of Odisha has expressed its confidence in the team’s abilities and is hopeful for a strong performance that will bring glory to the State.
“This is a significant milestone for Odisha, and the entire association is optimistic about the team’s success in the championship,” said Behera.

Odisha squad: Sonali Ojha, Damayanti Ojha, Murali Benian, Santosh Pradhan, Bikash Majhi, Sudhir Mallik.

Boccia is a Paralympic sport. It is highly competitive and is fun for able bodied as well as disabled athletes. Boccia can be played individually, pairs (2 on a team) or team (3 on a team).
Boccia is a throwing sport. The balls can be thrown or put in play with a ramp.
