As IPL 2025 approaches, fans are once again wondering if this will be MS Dhoni's final season with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Dhoni, who has always kept his retirement plans a mystery, has a history of defying expectations. Ever since his retirement from international cricket in 2020, the speculation surrounding his future in the Indian Premier League has been relentless. Each year, fans have been left guessing, and every time they thought it might be his last, he has returned for another season. Now, ahead of IPL 2025, Dhoni seems to have dropped a hint about his future.
When Dhoni arrived in Chennai for IPL 2025 preparations, he wore a T-shirt with the message "ONE LAST TIME" encoded in Morse code. While the message was cryptic, it gave fans a sense of closure, but in typical Dhoni fashion, he left it open to interpretation. In a promotional event, Dhoni said, "For me, my biggest motivation was that contribution to make India win. Now that I've retired from international cricket, I can't say it's the same, but for me now, it's the love for the sport."

In IPL 2024, Dhoni played all 14 matches for CSK, scoring 161 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 220. Despite moving to a lower batting position, he continued to play a key role, keeping wickets and providing vital cameos. Dhoni was retained by CSK for Rs 4 crore as an uncapped player.
Fans are eager to see Dhoni in action once again, as CSK begins their campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 22 in Chennai. Will this be his last season? Only time will tell.
