Former Goa cricketer Narayan Kambli
Fans are familiar about former left-handed batsman Vinod Kambli who fell from grace from the Indian cricket team after showing initial promise.
The superstar southpaw scored back-to-back double centuries in his third and fourth Tests. After four Tests he was averaging a staggering 137 and even after seven Tests, he had Sir Donald Bradman-like average of more than 100.
Kambli was once considered more talented that Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. However, his performances gradually declined following indiscipline and alcoholism. Eventually, he was excluded from the Indian team and gradually went into oblivion. Now, he is suffering with serious health issues.

However, we are mentioning about another Kambli here who was never part of the Indian cricket team. He was former Goa pacer Narayan Kambli. The 57-year-old cricketer played 39 first-class matches and 20 List ‘A’ matches for Goa before his retirement in 2006.
Narayan Kambli captured a total of 72 wickets in first-class cricket at an average of 36.93 with the best performance of 5/58 against Himachal Pradesh in a Ranji Trophy Plate Group match. He was the teammate of popular cricketers like Swapnil Asnodkar and Shadab Jakati who went on to play in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).
However, Narayan Kambli could not make it big and he is currently working as a cricket coach with the Sports Authority of Goa.
