Left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been selected for the Indian Test squad for the series against Bangladesh starting from December 14. He will be part of the squad as a replacement for the injured Mohammed Shami.

Shami is currently undergoing rehab for a shoulder injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and that is why the veteran pacer has been ruled out of the series.

The 31-year-old pacer has made a comeback to the India Test squad after 12 years. He played his first Test match in the year 2010 against South Africa. After 12 long years, he has been recalled to the Indian team for the two-match series against Bangladesh.

An old tweet of the left-arm pacer is going viral on the internet. He is making red ball a request to give him one more chance in the emotional tweet.

“Dear red ball, please give me one more chance. I’ll make you proud, promise!” read the tweet.

Unadkat was selected in the Indian team again on the basis of his outstanding performance in domestic cricket. He was the highest wicket- taker of 2019-20 Ranji Trophy, top wicket-taker in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 19 wickets in 10 games. He has picked up a total of 353 wickets in 96 domestic matches so far.
