Ahead of India’s first match against England in Hyderabad, Jasprit Bumrah seems confident of taking numerous wickets if England opts for ‘Bazball’ approach which has given them many wins in their home conditions.
In a recent interview with the Guardian, Bumrah shared his thoughts on how England’s aggressive style of cricket could actually work in his favour as in quest of scoring quick runs batsmen are likely to make errors.
“I don't really relate to the term Bazball. But they are playing successful cricket, demonstrating the world that’s there is another way of playing test cricket. Honestly saying as a bowler, I feel what I think is that it keeps me in play. And if they're going for it, playing so fast, they won't tire me out, I could get heaps of wickets. I always think about how I can use things to my advantage. Kudos to them but, as a bowler, you're in the game,” Bumrah said.

“I started with IPL, but I actually learn how to bowl while playing in first class cricket. That’s where I started to develop my skills, the art of taking wickets. In Test cricket, you have to get the batsman out and that challenges you as a bowler,” he said.
“I am of that generation where Test cricket is king. I will always judge myself on it,” Bumrah concluded.
After making his debut in 2018, he has emerged as India’s best bowler in Test cricket by taking 140 wickets in 32 games in his test career. In his 32 games, Bumrah played most of his matches in SENA countries as he showcased his skills with his impeccable line and lengths and variations.
England lost the series 3-1 when they last toured India in 2021.
