There is a famous saying - God made mothers because he could not be with us everywhere. Several legendary and promising cricketers across the globe could not agree more!

Mothers play a huge role in our lives and cricketers are not untouched by their love either. They have attained the heights of success but it has been the immense help and support of their mothers that they have reached that level. Many of the cricketers have been quite vocal about their love for their mothers.

Recently, emerging cricketer Rinku Singh hogged the limelight for his exceptional knock against Gujarat Titans in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). He took on young pacer Yash Dayal in the final over of the innings to slam five consecutive sixes to pull off a heist for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) when the team needed 29 runs for victory. He became only the fourth batter in the history of the cash-rich league to achieve the feat and also scored the most runs off seven consecutive balls.

In a recent interview with a television channel, Rinku revealed about his struggle. As per the talented batter, he had to face lots of hardships before he made it to IPL. However, he used to get full support from his mother which helped him become an accomplished cricketer.

“I am doing everything for my family. The hard times are now over. I told my father to leave his job. He has been working for 30 years. When I asked him to quit, he insisted on continuing. My brothers and I used to go from door to door to deliver gas cylinders with our father. My father used to be against me playing cricket. He wanted me to work with him and contribute money. However, Mom used to support me,” Rinku said during the interview with NDTV.

Well, Rinku is not the only cricketer behind whom his mother stood like a rock amid all the hardships. Legendary cricketer and former India captain MS Dhoni also got huge support and immense love from his mother to grow as one of the greatest cricketers in the world.

As per reports, Dhoni came from a humble background. Mahi’s father wanted him to have a good education to secure a decent government job. However, Mahi was more engrossed in sports. When he was asked to play for his school’s cricket team, Pan Singh initially opposed it. But when his wife supported the budding cricketer, he softened and went on to support his son in pursuing his passion and dreams. Hence, the career of one of India’s greatest cricketers flourished gradually with his mother’s immense love and strong support.
