A short stint in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) has changed the career of many youngsters. Current Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has a similar story to narrate.
Sanju’s father was a police constable at Delhi Police. Like his father, Sanju Samson also dreamed of working in the same department and wanted to be a police officer. However, his father wanted him to become a cricketer.
Following his father’s persuasion, Sanju gradually developed an undying interest in the game of cricket. Luckily, he made his IPL debut in 2013 for Rajasthan Royals. The wicketkeeper batsman never looked back again. He was retained by the franchised with Rs 4 crore in the following year. At that time, he was only 19 years old. Thus Sanju became a millionaire just at the age of 19.
The aggressive cricketer now gets a salary of Rs 14 crore for one season from Rajasthan Royals. On the other hand, former Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is given Rs 12 crore for one season which means Sanju’s IPL salary is more than that of Dhoni.
