Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Arun Dhumal has blamed RCB for the deadly stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during the team's IPL celebration on Wednesday.

The BCCI stated that they have no role in the RCB’s winning celebration in the streets. Dhumal expressed his deep condolences and clarified that BCCI had no accountability in the incident because they were unaware of the post-victory celebration.

Meanwhile, RCB superstar Virat Kohli has broken his silence on the stampede.

Kohli said he was lost for words and gutted by the loss of lives and injuries caused by a stampede.

The prolific batter who led RCB’s lap of honour inside a packed stadium, shared the team’s official statement on Instagram, adding a personal message expressing his sorrow at the tragic incident.

"At a loss for words. Absolutely gutted," wrote Kohli with a broken heart emoji.

As per reports, thousands of fans tried to catch a glimpse of the victorious team outside the venue causing the stampede. At least 11 persons were dead and around 50 persons were injured in the stampede.

Over two lakh supporters assembled near the stadium with a capacity of 35,000. The event was attended by all RCB players and members of their support staff, including coach Andy Flower and mentor Dinesh Karthik.

"Immediately upon being made aware of the situation, we promptly amended our programme and followed the guidance and advice of the local administration," RCB said in the statement.
