Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders' co-owner Shah Rukh Khan reportedly had an heated argument with actress Preity Zinta’s former boyfriend and Punjab Kings' co-owner Ness Wadia. The heated argument reportedly occurred during the IPL owners’ meeting at the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai, Cricbuzz reported.

BCCI had organised the meeting to discuss various points concerning retentions for the upcoming IPL 2025. 

As per Cricbuzz, the two owners got into a confrontation after they did not agree on the number of retentions each side should be granted ahead of the mega auction. While Shah Rukh was not convinced that there should be a mega auction before IPL 2025, Wadia was completely in favour of a complete overhaul.

Moreover, King Khan felt that there should be more retentions for each side, a point that was not to Wadia’s liking who wanted to go with less retentions. This reportedly led to exchange of words and further escalated into a heated argument.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals was also against the impact player rule while SRH was in favour of seven retentions. Kavya Maran maintained that players could be secured via a plain retention process or a combination of retention and RTM at the auction.

However, reports suggest that a few franchise were completely against the mega auction.
