Though it was predicted that 2024 session will be the last appearance of MS Dhoni in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), several fans and experts are now speculating that the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman may play in one more season for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
A couple of days back, CSK cleared air by saying that they have left it up to Dhoni to decide whether he will play in IPL 2025 or not.
Recently, Dhoni broke silence about his possibility of playing in IPL 2025. According to Dhoni, he is willing to continue playing cricket for a few more years.
“I want to enjoy the last few years of cricket. It was easy to play the game in childhood, but being a professional is not always enjoyable. The situation and demands are not easy as emotions and commitment are attached to it. I am looking to be a part of the sports for the next few years,” said Dhoni in a recent interaction.
CSK have a chance to retain Dhoni as an uncapped player for INR four crore after the BCCI reintroduced a scrapped rule.
Notably, Dhoni has a massive fan following and the fans have filled the stadiums in large numbers whenever he has played in a match.
