Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has replaced veteran batsman Rohit Sharma as the captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI) for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

However, several fans and experts are angry over the development as they feel that it is an injustice made to the most successful skipper of the franchise. Many fans predicted that Rohit will have difficulties while playing under Hardik. There were also rumours that Rohit and Hardik have a rift over the development.

However, in what could be called the best moment ahead of IPL 2024, Hardik walked up to Rohit and hugged him to bring an end to all the rumours about a rift existing between them.

The incident happened on Wednesday evening just as the MI players got together in a huddle to get things started. When Hardik started approaching Rohit, the former MI captain smiled and the hug was warm and it is winning the internet.

The video shared by MI has reportedly gone viral over various social media platforms. It has garnered over 6.3 k likes on social media platform X (earlier known as Twitter).

Several fans have also flooded the comment box with interesting comments.

“When something is not well, that’s when you actually show to prove all is well,” wrote a fan.

“Pandya Rohit reunion omg !!!!!,” tweeted another fan.

“Look at mark Boucher, guy is so awkward that he can’t even look at Rohit. They know they have done dirty to him,” a third user commented.
