Ahead of the upcoming IPL season which is likely to start on March 22, many players will go under the hammer in the Mini auction in Dubai today. In all, 333 cricket players, 214 from India and 119 from outside, including two from associate nations will be up for grabs for the respective IPL franchises in the IPL 2024 Player Auction.

In 2023, all-rounders were in high demand for the franchises and English all-rounder Sam Curran emerged as the most expensive player in the auction which was held in Kochi. Apart from that, 167 crore was spent by 10 IPL franchises to buy 80 players. 

Here’s the list of top 10 players who were the most expensive in last few auctions.

2. Cameron Green – 17.50 Crore (Mumbai Indians) (2023)
3. Ben Stokes – 16.25 Crore ( Chennai Super Kings) (2023)
4. Chris Morris – 16.25 Crore (Rajasthan Royals) (2021)
5. Yuvraj Singh – 16 Crore (Delhi Daredevils ) (2015)
6. Nicholas Pooran – 16 Crore (Lucknow Super Giants) (2023)
7. Pat Cummins – 15.50 Crore (Kolkata Knight Riders) (2020)
8. Ishan Kishan – 15.25 Crore (Mumbai Indians)
9. Kyle Jamieson- 15 crore (Royal Challengers Banglore) 
10. Ben Stokes- 14.5 crore (Rising Pune SuperGiants)

In the latest auction, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Rachin Ravindra are among the few whom the franchises will eye in the auction. 

To manage their workloads, Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Jofra Archer withdrew from the IPL this season. Kedar Jadhav is also not there in IPL list, while the names of Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan are also missing. 

Among the 10 teams, Gujarat Titans has the highest money available with 38.15 crore. They have available 8 slots remaining with them. The defending champions Chennai Super Kings have 31.4 crore remaining whereas, Mumbai Indians have 17 crore money left with them. 

For the first time, IPL auction is going to take place in Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
