The ongoing edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) is heating up with no team having secured a playoff berth yet, and remarkably, no team is out of contention either.
However, Kolkata Knight Riders are currently sitting atop the points table with 16 points from 11 matches including eight victories and three losses. They have the current run rate of +1.453. Rajasthan Royals are lagging behind them with as many points from 10 matches with eight wins and two losses. They have a current net run rate of +0. 622.
Chennai Super Kings are in the third spot with 12 points from 11 matches with six wins and five losses. They have a current run rate of +0.700. Similarly Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants are lagging in the fourth and fifth spots respectively with 12 points each from as many as 11 matches.
Mumbai Indians (MI) registered a much-needed victory in a do-or-die match. They currently occupy the ninth spot in the table with eight points in 12 matches.
IPL 2024 Playoff Qualification Scenarios
KKR qualification scenario
KKR will ensure the top two spots if they win their next two matches. And for now, we can't safely say that Knight Riders have qualified for the playoffs. However, they are close to the elusive qualification status, especially with their excellent net run rate.
RR Qualification Scenario in IPL 2024
Rajasthan Royals appear to be in a relatively comfortable position to qualify for the playoff berth. However, their situation is not entirely secure. If they lose their remaining four matches, they could see up to four teams surpassing them with 18 or more points.
CSK Qualification Scenario in IPL 2024
The Ruturaj Gaikwad led team will have to win one of their next three matches for a qualification chance. If CSK win against GT, KKR and LSG lose their next two matches, the Super Kings will hold a certain advantage in the race.
IPL 2024 & SRH Qualification Scenario
SRH’s next match against LSG will be a crucial one now for the Orange Army. If SRH win over LSG, they will hold an advantage in the race. But they may still have to win two of their final three matches to ensure qualification.
KL Rahul led LSG’s Qualification Scenario
The KL Rahul led team will have to try and win at least two matches to qualify for the playoffs.
DC Qualification Scenario
DC need to win all of their three matches for qualification, but winning against Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are imperative for them.
RCB Qualification Scenario in IPL 2024
RCB need to win three matches to have a realistic chance of playoff qualification as that will take them to 14 points. However, they have to depend upon a complicated equation for it.
Can PBKS Qualify? Know It’s Qualification Scenario
Punjab Kings have their next three matches against RCB, RR and SRH respectively. If the Kings win all of the three matches, that won't even guarantee their chances for the playoffs.
Mumbai Indians Qualification Scenario
MI have to win their next two matches to reach 12 points. Moreover, they have to depend upon plethora of things to happen to ensure them a spot in the top four.
GT Qualification Scenario
GT have Kolkata Knight Riders up next and will have to win all of their last three matches and rely on the performances of some other teams to have a chance at the playoffs.
