Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batting mainstay Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Gautam Gambhir grabbed headlines a couple of days earlier for their ugly altercation after a match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

Reflecting on the ugly spat, former Team India head coach and legendry all-rounder Ravi Shastri has urged both the cricketers to bury the hatchet as soon as possible.

“The penny will drop in a day or two. Then they will realise that the incident could have been handled a lot better. Both the cricketers play for the same state and they have played enough cricket. Gautam is a double World Cup winner and Virat is an icon. Both the players come from Delhi. I think the best thing would be to sit them both down and put an end to the ugly incident…once and for all,” said Shastri during an interview.

The former all-rounder also urged both Kohli and Gambhir to sort their issues out before it continues till the next game.

“Whoever does it, the sooner the better as you don’t want this to spill off. Carrying on, the next time they meet again there are words exchanged and one thing leads to another. The sooner the better. If I have to do it so be it,” Shastri added.
