Explosive batter Suryakumar Yadav wreaked havoc at the Wankhede Stadium with his maiden century in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

It was an important game for Mumbai Indians (MI) against Gujarat Titans (GT) and Surya lived up to the expectations of the fans to score the whirlwind ton with his unorthodox style of batting.

Suryakumar came out to bat in the seventh over after the dismissal of skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the same over. SKY took the GT bowlers to the cleaners and played one of the best knocks of his IPL career to help his team score a record fifth 200-plus total in the ongoing competition.

The swashbuckling batsman smashed GT bowlers all round the park and finished with an explosive knock of 103 runs in just 49 balls including 11 boundaries and six sixes. Riding on his stunning knock, MI put up a massive total of 218/5 against the defending champions.

Surya received praise from all quarters including fans, experts and former players for his incredible ton. Among many, former Team India captain and batting superstar Virat Kohli also heaped praise on Surya. The RCB batting mainstay took to Instagram and posted a special message for Surya.

Hailing SKY’s knock Kohli wrote: “Tula maanla bhau” which loosely translates to ‘I admire you brother’.
