Four times champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
With massive rise in the viewership, the tournament has become more lucrative in terms of prize money. As per reports, the prize pool for teams in IPL 2023 is Rs 46.5 crore. Apart from that, the winning team will get a glittering IPL trophy tonight, which has an interesting story behind it.
The shiny golden trophy has slight modifications every year. It has been made by a jeweler and it costs a whopping price. While the original trophy is kept with the BCCI, a replica of the same is given to the champions every year.
IPL 2023 trophy has been made by a jewellery company named Orra. The owner of the company is a diamond company named as Rosy Blue. Orra and Rosy Blue India are owned by Russell Mehta, who is the father of Mukesh Ambani’s daughter-in-law Shloka Mehta.
The glittering trophy is made out of a blend of metals and those are mainly gold and silver. The cup weighs around four kgs. It has a gold-plated exterior.
Though the exact price of the IPL 2023 trophy has not been revealed, it has been estimated at around Rs 50 lakh.
