Ind Vs Eng 5th T20: Abhishek Sharma Hits Second Fastest T20 Century as India Eye Massive Score

Abhishek Sharma made a stunning impact with the bat, scoring the second-fastest T20 century by an Indian cricketer, as India put up a commanding total against England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The young Punjab talent destroyed the English bowling attack with 5 fours and 10 sixes, playing a blistering knock that left the crowd in awe. His aggressive hitting took the game away from England, as they struggled to find an answer to his powerful strokes.

After England chose to bowl first, India’s opener Sanju Samson failed to capitalize on his strong form from the South Africa series, where he had scored two centuries. However, Sharma took matters into his own hands, delivering an explosive performance and entertaining the Mumbai crowd.

With this century, Sharma now holds the record for the second-fastest T20I century by an Indian, with only Rohit Sharma’s 35-ball century against Sri Lanka in 2017 above him. South African batsman David Miller also scored a 35-ball T20 century against Bangladesh at Potchefstroom in October 2017.
