Jasprit Bumrah leads from front in the first Test against Australia
Stand-in Captain and Team India’s premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah (4/17) led from the front to shift the momentum towards the visitors despite their batting collapse at stumps of day one in the first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Tropy in Perth on Friday.
In reply, to India’s meager total of 150, the hosts were looking down the barrel with just 67 runs on the board for the loss of seven wickets. India are currently in a very good position as they are still 83 runs ahead.
With Australia just have just three wickets in hand, it is very much likely that India will grab a very important first innings lead of 50 runs on a first and furious Perth wicket.
With the wicket still favouring the pacers, the healthy lead could be a crucial factor for India to script a convincing victory on a difficult wicket following the 0-3 debacle against New Zealand at home.

Australia got a taste of their own medicines on a wicket favouring pacers with bounce and swing. Bumrah and Co (Mohammed Siraj (2/17) and debutant Harshit Rana (1/33)) ruled the roost by posing difficult questions for the Australian batters with fiery pace, bounce, swing and accuracy.
Earlier, India took a brave decision to bat first on a wicket faouring the pacers. Barring Test debutant Nitish Reddy (41) and Rishabh Pant (37), all others failed to start. Though opener KL Rahul (27) got a good start with all the hard work, he failed to convert it to something substantial.
