International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed the dates and venues for the World Test Championship (WTC 2023) Final 2023 on Wednesday.

The much-awaited test match will be played at the historic Oval cricket ground in England from June 7 – 11. There is a reserve day in place on June 12.

Two strong contenders like Australia and India are currently in the reckoning to play the WTC 2023 final.

Currently, Australia are leading the WTC standings with a victory percentage of 75.56, followed by India (58.93), Sri Lanka (53.33) and South Africa (48.72).

With a healthy win percentage, Australia look all set to qualify for the final, irrespective of the series result against India.

India will play the four-match Border-Gavaskar series against Australia, starting in Nagpur on February 9, with an eye on the WTC final. The Test series will play a key role in deciding the finalists for the mega event.

A 3-1, 3-0 or 4-0 series victory against Australia would see India finish the current WTC cycle with a win percentage of over 60. The equation will help India set up a final clash against Australia. However, a total of six teams still stand a chance of qualification.

Both the captains Pat Cummins and Rohit Sharma are excited to lead their sides in WTC final.

India played the last WTC final as well. However, they were defeated by New Zealand in the all-important match. This time Indians would want to go one step further and pick the mace by winning the final.
