Amidst all the speculations and hype over the venue of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan has accepted the proposal of a hybrid model which was made by the ICC. It is worth mentioning that as Pakistan has opted for the Hybrid mode, the Asian country wants the International Cricket Council to opt for the same arrangements for world events that are scheduled to be in India until 2031.

Adding to it, Pakistan also wants increased revenue from the ICC.

Meanwhile, India is slated to host three men's events until 2031 - the 2026 T20 World Cup jointly with Sri Lanka, the 2029 Champions Trophy, and the 2031 ODI World Cup jointly with Bangladesh.

Earlier, The ICC also held a meeting for this on 29 November. However, in that meeting, some Pakistanis objected to the hybrid model.

If the Champions Trophy goes ahead in a hybrid model, then India will most likely play its matches in Dubai.

Now, it remains to be seen, whether the ICC accepts this proposal of Pakistan or not.

This competition is expected to be played from 19 February to 9 March 2025. India has not played cricket in Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

The Champions Trophy is returning to the ICC calendar for the first time since 2017. Pakistan won the ICC Champions Trophy title in 2017 by beating India at the Oval in England.

India had previously won the Champions Trophy in 2013 by beating England in a thrilling encounter. In 2002, India and Sri Lanka were declared joint winners.
