Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar recently claimed that he was approached for the Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt’s crime-drama movie ‘Gangster’ (2005). As per Akhtar, he was offered to play the lead role in the movie.

Akhtar, who is popularly known as ‘Rawalpindi Express’, has a huge fan base in India as well. He was one of the best and most lethal speedsters of his time. Like many other cricketers, the Pakistani fast bowler also cherishes acting ambitions.

Notably, Akhtar announced the title of his biopic, ‘Rawalpindi Express: Racing Against the Odds’ last year. However, it is unknown if the film has since begun production or not.  Akhtar announced his disassociation from the movie last month via Twitter, alleging ‘disagreements and contractual infractions.’

The speedster retired from international cricket in 2011. He played a total of 163 ODIs, 14 T20s, and 46 Tests for Pakistan during his illustrious career. He has captured 178 red-ball wickets, 247 ODI wickets, and 21 T20I wickets in his glittering international career. He is the first cricketer to ever bowl at a pace of 100 mph.

During his illustrious career, Akhtar has delivered a number of game-changing heroics. Moreover, some of his stellar bowling performances came against arch-rival India. He was the most fearsome fast bowler during his period.
