India defeated South Africa in their fourth T20 clash to clinch the series 3-1. The massive 135-run win at the DP World Wanderers Stadium came largely from the batting heroics of Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson.

Sparking major celebrations for Team India after their recent loss in the test series against New Zealand, the series also saw the young men-in-blue break and set several highs. To sum up, here is a full list of all the records that India set during their fourth T20I against South Africa:

1) Highest T20 total in South Africa: Batting first, India scored a whopping 283 at the loss of just one wicket. Incidentally, this score is the highest total made during any innings in any match played in South Africa.

2) Most runs conceded in an innings: South Africa conceded 283 to India in this match, their highest for any T20I played in South Africa. The event surpassed the Proteas conceding 258 against West Indies in 2023.

3) Most 250-plus totals: India’s 283 marked the third time that any team scored above 250 in Men’s T20I. Moreover, the team is also the third ever in any T20 match (domestic or international) to fetch 250-plus.

4) Most sixes in an innings: India hammered 23 sixes against South Africa to hold the record for the highest number of sixes against a full-time team. Additionally, they now also have a joint record (along with Japan) for the third-highest number of sixes in an innings.

5) First dual centuries in the same innings: Tilak Varma scored 120 off 47 balls while Sanju Samson smashed 109 off 56 balls, marking the first time that two individual centuries were made in a T20I by Team India.
