Team India superstar Virat Kohli's retirement from the longest format of the game ahead of the upcoming Test series against England surprised several fans and experts.
According to Australian women's team captain Alyssa Healy, something unusual happened which forced Rohit to announce his retirement.
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc’s wife Alyssa Healy was in India when Kohli announced his retirement. She wondered on how a player can announce his retirement after appearing to be in good form in the red-ball format.
Healy was recently involved in a chat show about Kohli's Test retirement with Adam Peacock on the Willow Talk podcast.
"Given he doesn't exactly need to play the final, pack his bags, and get out to England. I was speaking to someone in last week with a knowledge of the situation, and I think there's more to come in the whole story of the Gambhir-Kohli relationship," said Adam Peacock.

In response, Healy said, "I saw a video of Kohli hitting red balls during IPL. Something's gone on in the last couple of weeks. I don't know what it is. I was like, 'interesting'. I don't think he was ready to give it up. I would say that."
Notably, Test is the favourite format of Kohli. However, Kohli announcing his retirement from the longest format before the all-important India-England Test series has intrigues fans and experts about the possible reasons behind it.
