Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Two great players of Indian cricket-Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from the longest format of the game within a very short span of time.
As a result, several fans and experts have expressed concern over India's performance in Tests as the team will undergo a transition period.
In response, India's former T20 World Cup winning cricketer Joginder sharma said that the timing of Kohli's retirement wasn't right, given the former Indian skipper’s top-notch fitness and form.
The former Indian all-rounder also felt that Rohit could have contributed to red-ball cricket for a couple of years more.
"Virat Kohli’s fitness and performance don't indicate that this was the time. I believe he should have played, and even Rohit should have. A bad patch comes for everyone," said Joginder in a recent interaction.

However, Joginder stated that the Indian team will not take much time to cover the transition period as the country has enough bench strength.
"The bench strength of our country suggests that we will recover the loss. It's not that a legendary batsman might come or replace him, but cricket needs to be continued as needed. Even Australia is considered one of the best teams, even after the retirement of great players," said Joginder.
