Cricket lovers are devastated, hurt and gutted after India suffered a humiliating 10-wicket defeat to England in the IIC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal.
The struggle with the bat put India in difficulty. Die-hard fans now cannot help but recall former India cricketer star Yuvraj Singh’s ‘six 6s’ during the 2007 T20 World Cup.
Left-hander Singh gave the cricket world an experience to remember after he smashed six consecutive 6s against England’s Stuart Board.
Fans just wished Hardik Pandya or Virat Kohli could do something like Yuvraj Singh in the last match. But, Alas! The Indian team suffered a heartbreaking loss as Buttler (80 not out from 49 balls) and Hales (86 not out from 47) made a chase of 169 look like a walk in the park.
A timid approach in the powerplay cost India the game. A total of 168/6 in a World Cup semi-final isn’t a great one, particularly on a decent batting surface like the Adelaide Oval.
Even Yuvraj Singh himself was upset with India’s performance and wrote, “Come on India need to show some character!! Break their partnership and you never know when u pick up a few wickets!!!”
Again, he tweeted, “Yes, we want our team to win each time they step on the field but we’ve got to realise there will be days that don’t go our way! Proud to see the boys perform as a unit throut the tournament. Time to reflect on how we can improve & comeback stronger.”
Similarly, many fans also recalled how MS Dhoni was the best captain for India.
A user wrote, “MS Dhoni was not lucky. He was a bloody good captain and an exception reader of the game. He could find a match-winner out of anyone. That, my friends, is not luck. Being the only captain to win all the three white-ball ICC trophies can’t be luck.”

A third user wrote, “I have realised one thing today. India was never a great or competitive team in ICC tournaments. There was only one man who led them in such a way that they eneded up winning not one but 3 trophies under his leadership. There will never be another MS Dhoni. Never.”
