Indian women’s team all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar found herself in the midst of a controversy after sharing a post on Instagram titled ‘Vasooli Titans’, which appeared to mock Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and other BJP leaders.
However, Vastrakar deleted the post after it went viral on social media platforms.
Despite her efforts to remove the post, screenshots of the controversial content circulated widely across various social media platforms. The development sparked a wave of reactions from netizens. Some interpreted the post as supportive of the Congress party. Many others cautioned Vastrakar about potential repercussions on her career for sharing such content.
Later, Vastrakar issued a clarification in this regard. She stated that this happened when her ‘phone was not in her possession’.
She came up by posting another story on Instagram, stating, “Hi. It has come to my notice that a highly objectionable image was posted from my Instagram account. This happened at a time when my phone was not in my possession. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the honourable Prime Minister and sincerely apologize for the hurt this has caused.”
