Though Pakistan is the host of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, India is playing all their matches. Earlier, BCCI had refused for the Indian team's visit to Pakistan due to the strained political relationship between both the countries. As a result, ICC was forced to prepare a hybrid model for the mega event.
However, many experts across the globe have slammed ICC for providing India the advantage of playing only in Dubai as other teams have to travel to play in other venues.
Do India really have advantage?
Many other experts are also of the opinion that fmiliarity with conditions is one thing and to ale to adapt one’s games, mindsets and attitudes to these conditions is quite another. India came into the Champions Trophy after winning the ODI series against England. The series was played on excellent batting surfaces. India have successfully applied a strategy of going hard against the bowlers.
However, the Men in Blue have a completely different kind of challenge in Dubai where the pitches are sluggish. But, India have shown the smartness and the skills to adopt and revisit their strategy. Their attitude has also been impressive.

India’s versatility and their ability to perform even outside their comfort zone has barely been highlighted. In both their wins against Bangladesh and Pakistan, India were chasing competitive targets in tricky batting conditions and under lights. On both the matches, the ball came on even slower, hitting through and against the line was fraught with danger. Overall, Indian players were flexible and they adopted to the condition well.
