In what could be a piece of exciting news for fans, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo might return to Europe for yet another stint. It could be possible if Premier League club Newcastle United qualify for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League.

The team is currently occupying the third position on the points table. As per media reports, the exciting development about CR7’s return is due to a clause in Ronaldo’s contract with Saudi Arabia club Al-Nassr. The superstar has joined the club last week.

Newcastle United is owned by the Saudi-backed public investment fund who took over the English side in October 2021. The club has again witnessed an upward curve after the takeover. Though the club finished 11th in the 2021-22 season, it is now in the fray for a Champions League spot and a top four finish.

As per Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nasar, the star footballer can leave on loan to the English team. This could happen in the next season.

CR7’s new contract with Al-Nassr makes him the highest-paid footballer in history, with the Saudi club acquiring his services for over $200 million a year.

Moreover, CR7’s move to Al Nassr means he will be playing professional football for the first time in Asia. The move has also brightened up his chances of playing in the AFC Champions League for the first time. There is also a huge chance that Ronaldo will play professional football in India for the first time.
