The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced Team India’s squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.

While veteran batsman Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the team, Shubman Gill has been appointed his deputy. However Gill’s appointment as the vice-captain of the team has not gone down well with several fans. They have expressed their sharp reactions over the development.

“Everything is good but Shubman Gill as a vice captain instead of Bumrah hardik pandya,” wrote a fan on social media account X (earlier known as Twitter).

“On what basis Shubhaman gill is Vice-captain...neither he impress with his technique and niether he impress with his capatainship in #ipl. Again we are going in wrong direction as a future captain point of view.... totally wrong decision,” tweeted another fan.
