The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed Apollo Tyres as the new jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team, stepping in after the exit of Dream11. The deal, which runs until March 2028, marks Apollo Tyres’ first-ever foray into Indian cricket, a strategic alignment with the nation’s most loved sport.

Financially Stronger Deal

Under the agreement, the Apollo Tyres logo will appear on the jerseys of both the Indian men’s and women’s teams across all formats. The company will pay Rs 4.5 crore per match, surpassing Dream11’s earlier contribution of Rs 4 crore. With India’s packed international calendar, the sponsorship is valued at Rs 579 crore for three years, covering 121 bilateral matches and 21 ICC events making it one of the most lucrative deals in Indian cricket.

Reaction from BCCI

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia described the partnership as more than just a commercial arrangement, calling it a bond between two trusted institutions. Vice-president Rajeev Shukla added that the competitive bidding highlighted the market’s confidence in Team India’s global brand, expressing optimism about the partnership driving mutual growth.

Why the Change?

The sponsorship reshuffle followed the government’s ban on real-money gaming platforms, including Dream11, under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025. With the team even playing the Asia Cup without a sponsor, Apollo Tyres’ arrival brings stability and prestige.

A Driving Force for the Future

Headquartered in Gurugram with global manufacturing units, Apollo Tyres sees this as a milestone in its legacy. For Indian cricket, the deal ensures not just financial strength but a renewed global presence, driving both brands towards greater visibility and success.
