Actress Anushka Sharma penned a heartfelt message after her husband and the run machine of India, Virat Kohli slammed his 50th ODI century in the World Cup semi-final match against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.
King Kohli slammed an impressive 117 off 113 balls as India posted a mammoth 397 runs in the first semi-final match. Anushka, who was present at the ground to cheer for her hubby dearest, applauded Kohli for being a part of her life and lauded his batting brilliance.
“God is the best script writer. Utterly grateful to him for blessing me with your love, and to watch you grow from strength to strength and achieve all that you have and will,” she shared on her Instagram handle.
“Being honest to yourself and to the sport always, you are truly god’s child,” she further added.
The actress could not control her excitement and was seen blowing flying kisses to Kohli after he bowed down to Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli also was seen blowing kisses to his wife and making gestures for her as a kind of appreciation and support.
With his 50th ton, Kohli has now officially surpassed the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to claim the world record of scoring the highest number of centuries in ODI cricket.
“It feels like a dream. Too good to be true,” Kohli said at the innings break.
He further added, “For me the most important thing is to make my team win. I’ve been given a role this tournament and I’m trying to dig deep,” he further stated.
