Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli
Legendary Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently announced his retirement from international cricket following the completion of the third Test against Australia during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Several fans were shocked by Ashwin’s sudden decision about his retirement. Thus he became the second high profile cricketer after MS Dhoni to announce retirement amid Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Meanwhile, as per experts, veteran batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are likely to follow Ashwin’s footsteps and announce their retirement soon.
Kohli and Rohit have already announced their retirement from T20I format after India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 title earlier this year. They are now playing only in Test and ODI formats.

Currently, the batting techniques of both the veteran batters are under scrutiny during the ongoing Test series against Australia. While Rohit is averaging as little as 11.69 in his last 11 innings, Kohli’s technique in dealing with ball outside his off-stump has been thoroughly exposed by the Australian pacers.
As per sources, Kohli and Rohit may well be playing their final Test in Sydney early next month.
With Team India all set to go under complete transition and transformation, Kohli and Rohit are likely to announce their retirements after the Test series against Australia to make way for young and talented cricketers.
Speculation is also rife that spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja may also announce his retirement after the series.
