Bowlers were carted all round the park as India faced a massive loss in the first ODI against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday.

India badly missed the pace and variety of their ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the match. Meanwhile, Bumrah has posted a comeback video straight after the humiliating loss against the Black Caps. Bumrah can be seen training hard in the video clip as he prepares to make a comeback from injury.

Notably, Bumrah missed the Asia Cup in August and then the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia due to fitness issues. The ace pacer has been trying to recover as soon as possible. It is expected that he will return by next year only. The speedster does not feature in the squads in New Zealand or the ones selected for the Bangladesh Test matches and ODIs.

Bumrah was very upset after he was ruled out of the T20 World Cup. He is among India’s rarest players who play all the three formats and his absence really hurt the Men in Blue in the World Cup.

India have a packed calendar in 2023. In a bid to bolster Team India’s bowling attack, the team management will have to ensure that Bumrah’s work load is managed well.
