No cricket lover will ever be able to forget the clash between the Men in Blue and Kiwis in the World Cup Semifinal at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team not only avenged the Kiwis of the 2019 semifinal by a huge margin of 70 runs, but India’s run machine Virat Kohli also shattered the record of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
The stylish batsman entered into the 50th ODI century with ease. Apart from his historic 50th century, Kohli is also earning praise for dedicating it to his idol Sachin and bowing to him. Everyone has become a fan of King Kohli including ‘Queen’ actress Kangana Ranaut.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Kangana, known for attacking fellow celebrities however, is all praise for Virat. She shared a touching video of Virat paying respects to Sachin and wrote, “How wonderful!! It’s also the great precedent set by Mr Kohli how he would like to be treated by those who break his records, they must worship the earth he walks on… That’s what he deserves, a Great man with astonishing self-worth and character.”
Previously, Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma had also shared a heartfelt message for him after he surpassed Sachin to create history.
“God is the best scriptwriter! Utterly grateful to him for blessing me with your love, watching you grow from strength to strength and achieve all that you have and will, and always being honest to yourself and the sport. You are truly God’s child,” she shared on her Instagram handle.
