Sanju Samson’s terrific maiden ODI hundred and the wiliness of bowlers ensured India’s 78-run win over South Africa in the third and final match at the Boland Park in Paarl on Thursday. Other players like Rinku Singh and KL Rahul also performed well and contributed to the team’s win.
However, a particular conversation between captain KL Rahul and South Africa cricketer Keshav Maharaj was caught in the mic and has been going viral. The two had a fun conversation as the popular song ‘Ram Siya Ram’ from the Prabhas-starrer ‘Adipurush’ was being played when Keshav came to bat.
It is a known fact that Keshav Maharaj has his ancestral roots in India and is an unapologetic Hindu. He is a practicing Hindu and never shies away from expressing his love for Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram. Almost, all his captions on Instagram and other social media handles end with Jai Hanuman and Jai Siya Ram.
Interestingly, the song ‘Ram Siya Ram’ was played when Keshav came out to bag. The song was also played when he was bowling in the first innings. India captain KL Rahul who made the observation pointed it out to Keshav as the duo shared a hefty laugh.
Rahul pointed out that every time Maharaj walks into the ground, the DJ plays the ‘Ram Siya Ram’ song and the SA all-rounder agreed with him. Now, a video of the conversation between the two cricket legends has gone viral on social media.
In the third ODI match, India defeated SA by 78 runs to clinch the series 2-1.
