Gulbarga: Police on Thursday claimed to have unearthed a betting racket in IPL cricket matches by arresting six persons and seized valuables worth Rs 21 lakh.

The six had engaged in betting in the IPL match involving Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians played at Mumbai on Wednesday, Superintendent of Police Praveen Madhukar Pawar told reporters here.

During the raids on some places, Rs 7.5 lakh,100 grams of gold ornaments, two television sets, one laptop, a car and two-wheeler were seized, he said. Police are on the look out for the suspected kingpin of the racket, who owns a business establishment here. Pawar announced Rs 10,000 reward to the police team which uncovered the racket.
