Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Tuesday concluded its hearing in connection with the school fee hike case. However, the court has reserved its verdict in the matter.
Moreover, the Odisha government also submitted a committee report before the High Court today.
A common petition has been filed in the High Court seeking judicial intervention into what has been termed as “arbitrary decision” of the private schools in the state to increase the fee although the institutions have remained closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The petitioners are also seeking a complete exemption of the tuition fee by the private schools.
Earlier on September 1, 2020, the Orissa High Court had asked the state government to take the initiative to mediate between the parent's associations and private school authorities and resolve the ongoing row over school fee hike.
