Saini resigns as Uttarakhand BJP vice-president
After submitting his resignation to state party unit chief Bishan Singh Chuphal, Saini said he took the decision due to the "infighting in the party".
Saini lamented that Leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha has still not been selected due to difference in opinion among the party leaders. He also accused the the party of ignoring interests of Dalits, backwards and minorities in the state.
He alleged that unfair and corrupt practises were adopted, during distribution of tickets in the Assembly polls, affecting morale of party workers. He said he will decide his future course of action following a meeting with his supporters tomorrow.
Meanwhile, BJP dissolved its four district units for alleged anti-party activities in the recent Assembly polls in the state.
Party chief Chuphal dissolved the district units in Roorkee, Purola, Uttarkashi and Almora, with immediate effect, party general secretary Dhan Singh Rawat today said.
