Sack minister for corruption: Abdul Gani to Sonia

Jammu: Leveling allegations against Congress minister Taj Mohideen that he had failed to check corruption in his ministry, AICC member Abdul Gani Vakil today appealed to Sonia Gandhi to sack him in the "interest of the party and probity in public life."

"Taj Mohideen have also breached and defeated the mandate of (UPA Chairperson and AICC Chief) Sonia Gandhi and Congress party in fighting the menace of corruption in the state," Vakil today alleged in a letter to Mohideen, the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control.

"In light of the above facts and circumstances, as a responsible Congress worker I am constrained to appeal and request Congress high command to sack you as a minister in the interest of party and probity in public life," Vakil, who is considered close to Union Minister Gulam Nabi Azad, said. In the letter, also sent to Gandhi, Vakil gave details of allegations and corruption charges against the minister.
